Offline Promotion Of Your Site
When you have a website, you want to be found. Not just in the search engines, or local Internet directory. You also want people to remember your website address (URL), or write it down, and go to it directly when they want to learn more about your business, its owners, address or its opening hours. Therefore you need to promote your URL not only online (for instance through search engine optimization), but also offline.
How, you ask? Well, for starters you need to have the web address on your business card, but you probably already have. And of course you have remembered to use an email address like yourname@yourdomain.ca, and not cuty1974@hotmail.com. But do you consistently mention your website in your magazine or newspaper ads? Do you show it prominently placed in the window of your place of business, on your invoices or cash register slips, on your car (magnet, sticker, lettering)? Think about those pens and t-shirts that you have ordered for the upcoming tradeshow: does that promote your website as well?
You should be visible wherever your clients and prospects are - especially if you have an easy to remember domain name.
